Congress and AIUDF alliance ‘Mahakhot’ in Assam, BJP will register big win: Fadnavis.

BJP leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have termed the alliance of Congress and  AIUDF in Assam as ‘Mahakhot’, which will end the social and cultural fabric of the state.

BJP leader was addressing an election rally in Nalbari. He said that this alliance has been done to fulfill political ambitions.

The alliance of the two parties is not ‘mahajoth’ but ‘mahakhot’, Fadnavis said that the BJP and its allies are committed to ensuring the safety and prosperity of the people of the state and the preservation of their culture.

The nomination of 28 candidates of the second phase rejected.

Meanwhile, the nomination of 28 candidates for the second phase of polling to be held on April 1 in Assam has been rejected. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office gave this information.

The second phase is scheduled to vote for 39 seats, for which a total of 408 candidates had nominated, of which 28 pamphlets were rejected during scrutiny on Monday. March 17 is the last date for withdrawal of the name.

At the same time, seven candidates have so far nominated for the third and final phase of elections in the state on April 6.

These include Naba Kumar Sarania, MP from Kokrajhar seat, who has nominated as an Independent candidate from Burma.

Many items worth 64 crores recovered.

Assam’s Chief Electoral Officer’s office said in a statement on Tuesday that during the assembly elections in the state, materials worth Rs 64.84 crore including liquor, drugs, and undisclosed cash have been recovered.

These include cash of Rs 12.17 crore, liquor worth Rs 17.82 crore, gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 2.82 crore, and drugs worth Rs 27.13 crore.

By-elections to 14 assembly seats and 12 Lok Sabha seats in 12 states will be announced on April 17.

The Election Commission has announced by-elections in 14 assembly seats in 12 states. Along with these, elections will also be held on one seat each in the Lok Sabha in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Elections will be held in most of the seats vacated due to the demise of MPs and MLAs in most places. Voting will take place on April 17.

Its results will be announced on May 2 along with the results of the five state assembly elections. The states where the assembly seats are to be held include one in Madhya Pradesh and 3 seats in Rajasthan.
