Earlier on Saturday, BJP National Vice President Raman Singh came to Dehradun and took a meeting of the State BJP Core Group.

During this period there was speculation from leadership change to cabinet expansion. However, BJP state president Banshidhar Bhagat dismissed speculation of a leadership change.

The party workers were not ready to say anything about the internal developments, but they certainly looked uncomfortable.

Now less than a year is left for the next assembly elections in Uttarakhand. Naturally, the party has now entered the full electoral mode.

The Chief Minister, ministers, and officials of the organization are visiting the districts. Until two days ago there was no feeling of any kind at the party.

The entire government and BJP MLAs were present in the budget session of the ongoing Legislative Assembly in the summer capital Garrison.

Suddenly there was a stir in the corridors of power on Saturday morning when information came out that a meeting of the State BJP Core Group has been called in Dehradun in the evening.

Raman Singh, the National Vice President and former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh will be present as an observer.

Suddenly calling a core group meeting without a pre-determined schedule triggered a round of speculation and discussion in the political corridors.

If someone was referring to it as an extension of the Cabinet, then many people were calling it part of the exercise of leadership change.

Raman Singh and state in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam as supervisor spoke to about a dozen members of the core group and returned to Delhi late in the evening.

Interestingly, many names became part of the speculation as to the new Chief Minister during this period.

However, after the departure of Raman Singh, State BJP President Banshidhar Bhagat rejected the talk of the change of leadership.
