China’s antics gave Indian Army an opportunity to increase its strength- Northern Command Chief Upendra Dwivedi.

The Chief of the Army’s Northern Command, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, said on Wednesday that the actions of the Chinese Army Public Liberation Army (PLA) along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh gave the Indian Army every opportunity to improve its strength and firepower.

Keeping in mind the challenges on the border of Ladakh, we need to maintain our operational preparedness at a high level at all times.

Referring to the bloody conflict between Indian and Chinese troops in Galwan Valley in June 2020.

Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi said that we have responded to PLA aggression and infiltration in Eastern Ladakh with prompt action and proper use of force.

There was full cooperation of the Air Force and Navy in this.

The PLA adopted an aggressive approach in violation of the then agreement and protocol and attempted to infiltrate eastern Ladakh.

What happened in Galwan undoubtedly worsened the situation in Eastern Ladakh for some time, but we have taken advantage of these situations to improve our capability and combat preparedness.

We have redesigned our strategy taking into account the intentions of the PLA. We have strengthened our barricades and have brought about a drastic change in our preparedness to deal with any situation.

The Lt Gen said that the indomitable spirit of courage and sacrifice in our soldiers and the outstanding and exemplary leadership skills of our commanders at all levels have projected the Indian Army as a capable state-of-the-art army in the world.

China’s antics gave Indian Army an opportunity: The principle of self-reliance to meet the requirements.

The Army Commander said that the Army is also increasing the use of state-of-the-art technology at various levels to maintain its operational preparedness under any circumstances.

We are working on the principle of self-reliance to meet our needs.
