CBI Tightens Its Grip On Babul Supriyo’s Aide, Sushant Malik

CBI tightens its grip on Babul Supriyo’s aide, Sushant Malik accused of taking a bribe of five lakh rupees.

The CBI has tightened the noose on Sushant Malik, who was Babul Supriyo’s staff during his tenure as the Union Minister.

Sushant Malik is accused of accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for helping in a contract from Engineering Projects India Limited (EPIL) during his tenure as the minister’s staff.

Babul Supriyo was the Minister of State in the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries at the time of the scam.

According to the FIR, the CBI had received a complaint of a scam in EPIL in March last year. The allegations were found to be true during the investigation of the complaint.

According to this, for a tender in 2016-17, the then CMD of EPIL SPS Bakshi and Executive Director Harcharan Pal, and two other officers had demanded a bribe of Rs 50 lakh from a person named Ashutosh Bandopadhyay.

Out of the bribe amount, Rs 40 lakh was received by Bakshi and Rs 10 lakh by Harcharan Pal.

Bakshi told Ashutosh Bandopadhyay to give five lakh rupees to Sushant Malik through RS Tyagi, Deputy General Manager of EPIL.

The special thing is that Bakshi transferred this money to Sushant Malik in his account.

Obviously, the number of bribes given in the account can prove to be strong evidence against Sushant Malik.

After confirming the complaint, CBI on Saturday registered an FIR against SPS Bakshi, Harcharan Pal, Ashutosh Bandopadhyay, and Sushant Malik under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

CBI tightens its grip on Babul Supriyo’s aide: By the way, it has not been told in the FIR whether Babul Supriyo was aware of this matter or not.

It is worth mentioning that Babul Supriyo was made Minister of State by the Ministry of Heavy Industries in the first term of the Modi government.

Supriyo was also included in the Council of Ministers of the Modi government in the second term.

But in the reshuffle of the cabinet in July of 2021, Babul Supriyo was out of the council of ministers. After that, he left BJP and joined Trinamool Congress.
