CBI raids are being conducted at seven places in the state including three houses in Asansol.

According to the news agency, the CBI reached the Asansol residence of Law Minister and TMC leader Malay Ghatak on Wednesday morning.

On the facts related to the coal scam, the officials associated with the investigating agency are engaged in investigating his residence.

During this, a large number of police forces are also deployed outside his residence.

Malay Ghatak refused to join CBI’s inquiry.

According to information received from the sources, Malay Ghatak was summoned for questioning several times by the CBI, but he refused to join the interrogation every time on the pretext.

After this, on Wednesday, the CBI is raiding their places.

Let us inform you that both the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) agencies are investigating the coal smuggling case in West Bengal.

Eastern Coalfields Limited operates several mines in the western parts of Bengal. It is alleged that during a racket illegally mined coal for many years was sold on the black market.

Abhishek Banerjee has also been questioned in this case.

At the same time, central agencies have also questioned Abhishek Banerjee and his wife Rujira Banerjee in this case.

The Enforcement Directorate had claimed that TMC MP Banerjee was the beneficiary of the money received from this illegal business.
