Captain Amarinder Said – Sidhu Did Not Ask For Time
Captain Amarinder said – Sidhu did not ask for time, I will not even meet him till he apologizes: Rift In Punjab Congress.
Even after Navjot Singh Sidhu became the state president of the Punjab Congress, the controversy is not taking the name of calm. There is a split in the Congress in Punjab.
The dispute between Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Sidhu is increasing instead of decreasing.
Captain Amarinder is still not ready to meet Navjot Singh Sidhu. It was said on behalf of Sidhu Camp that he has sought an appointment with Captain.
Soon afterward it was told by Captain Amarinder that Sidhu had not asked for any time and there was no question of him meeting without apologizing publicly.
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has rubbished reports that Navjot Singh Sidhu has sought time to meet him.
The Captain said that Sidhu has not asked for time to meet him.
The Captain dismissed the appeal of all those leaders saying that he would not meet Navjot Singh Sidhu till he (Sidhu) publicly apologized for his tweets and statements.
On the other hand, Captain Amarinder Singh’s camp has also become active after Sidhu’s meeting with MLAs, ministers, and Congress leaders.
Once again, three senior state cabinet ministers Brahm Mohindra, OP Soni, and Vijay Inder Singla called on the Chief Minister.
Along with this, Captain Amarinder Singh will also give lunch to the Congress MPs of the state today.
The ministers and leaders close to the captain also have a tough stand against Sidhu.
Chief Minister Amarinder’s stand of apologizing to Sidhu has also been supported by ministers and leaders close to him.
Before meeting the CM, senior Congress leader Brahm Mohindra, who held the number two position in the Punjab cabinet, also followed the captain’s path.
He welcomed Sidhu being made the state president but at the same time said that he would not meet him personally (Navjot Singh Sidhu) until Sidhu resolved his issues with the captain.
He said that the decision to make Sidhu the president is of the high command and it is welcome.
Mohindra said that Captain Amarinder Singh is the leader of the Congress Legislature Party and heads the cabinet.
It is his duty to support the Captain.
Therefore, until the issues between Sidhu and Captain are not resolved, he will refrain from meeting the newly appointed state president.
It is noteworthy that Sidhu has not yet met the Captain after becoming the President. He has been meeting ministers and MLAs in the state continuously for four days.
Significantly, Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa had appealed to the Chief Minister to forget the tweet made by Sidhu with a big heart, as in the case of Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
Sidhu has not made any personal attack on him like Khaira.
At the same time, Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria also said that when the Captain forgave Pratap Singh Bajwa and Khaira, he should show big heart in Sidhu’s case as well.
