The much awaited introduction of 5G services in the country is expected to lead to bumper recruitments in the telecom sector in the next two years.

According to a senior official of TeamLease, this service is expected to bring a large number of contractual jobs to the telecom sector.

He said that due to 5G in the coming time, this sector will have the highest number of recruitments. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has already started the process of 5G trials earlier this month.

Under this, the department had accepted the applications of telecom companies Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea for trial.

Singh said, “Telecom vertical is one of the biggest market in terms of staffing industry, It is a vertical which has seen an increase in the time of Covid. We hope that in 2021 also will continue.”

He said, “With the introduction of 5G in future, the labor market will get a boost with the economy.”

According to TeamLease, this year the telecom sector will see an increase of 18 percent in the need of new talent.

He has said that there will be recruits in this sector for profiles ranging from technician, installation engineer, civil engineer to project manager.

It is noteworthy that the demand for contractual staff in the telecom sector witnessed an increase in lockdown and restrictions on movement of people in 2020.

The reason for this is that due to rules related to work from home or remote working and social distancing, the need for data has reached new heights.

Because of this, companies working in this sector had to invest to expand network capacity. During the lockdown, telecom services were identified in the sector with essential services.
