BSF South Bengal Frontier jawans on Monday foiled attempts to forcefully infiltrate into India illegally by cutting a fence (border fencing) along the Indo-Bangladesh international border in Nadia district bordering Bengal.

During this, the miscreants also attacked the BSF jawans for obstructing the infiltration, in which a jawan was severely injured in the head.

At the same time, a Bangladeshi woman died after being shot in action by BSF personnel in self-defense. Official sources said that the woman was with the miscreants.

The statement issued by BSF on Monday said that the incident took place in the border out post-Pakhuri area of ​​Nadia.

Where vigilant personnel of the 8th Battalion of BSF thwarted the attempts of illegal infiltration.

According to the statement, at around 1:30 in the afternoon, the soldiers of Border Out Post Pakhuri were doing duty on the India-Bangladesh border road.

Suddenly the jawans saw three to four miscreants from Bangladesh who were trying to break the border fencing.

At the same place, there are two roads from Pakhuri village to the border road.

Some miscreants confounded BSF personnel from the western part of the village and tried to infiltrate through the road on the eastern side.

The miscreants also abused the soldiers and attacked them with sharp-edged dah, sticks and stones.

When the jawans challenged them, the miscreants started abusing BSF jawans and attacked the jawans with sharp-edged dah, sticks and stones.

Sensing the threat of loss of government property with their own lives, the jawans fired a round with an INSAS rifle in the air in a safe direction.

However, despite this, the miscreants started aggressively carrying out the infiltration attempt. He again threw a fire at the soldiers, though he did not.

After that, the miscreants started moving towards the BSF jawans with the intention of besieging them.

Seeing the danger, the soldiers fired two rounds below their knees towards the crooks. Hearing the sound of fire, the crooks ran away from the spot.

However, after searching the area, a woman was found injured near the fence who was shot. The injured woman was immediately rushed to the rural hospital Bagula by the BSF.

After first aid, she was rushed to the district hospital Krishnanagar where he was declared dead by doctors. This woman was with the miscreants.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sahrun Haldar (45), Village – Morelganj, Thana – Morelganj, District – Khulna, Bangladesh.

Officials said that after scrutinizing the area, it was noticed that the border fencing was broken and wire cutters, dah and pieces of stone were lying there.

An FIR has also been lodged in the Hanskhali police station by the BSF to investigate the incident.

It is noteworthy that BSF’s South Bengal Frontier of the India-Bangladesh border has been under vigilance and constant operations to prevent smuggling and illegal infiltration.

This has led to human smugglers and miscreants committing their illegal activities on the border Is having many difficulties.

Many of them are being caught for committing crimes and have been punished.
