Boris Johnson talks to PM Modi on the Russia-Ukraine war, calls for reducing tension between the two countries.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday on the worsening situation due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Johnson called Russia’s action dangerous for the world.

Giving details of the talks between the two leaders, a Downing Street spokeswoman said Johnson called on India to work with Britain to promote peace and reduce tensions in the region.

Both the leaders agreed that progress can be made only by following international rules.

The spokesman said that PM Johnson has described the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin as very dangerous and disturbing for the world.

Both leaders recognized that the unity and sovereignty of Ukraine should be respected. Russia must abide by the United Nations Charter.

Prime Minister Modi briefed his counterpart about the humanitarian aid being given by India to Ukraine.

The two leaders welcomed the strong and prosperous ties between India and Britain and agreed to continue the trade, security, and trade ties in the coming weeks and months.
