The bill was introduced by Senate members Marco Rubio, Tommy Tyubville, Moore Capito, Dan Sullivan, Tham Tillis, and Cynthilla Loomis, the upper house of parliament.
If this bill is approved by Parliament, then the US Secretary of State will have to declare the Taliban government illegal.

“There is no doubt that Taliban-controlled Afghanistan poses a direct threat to our national security interests as well as to our allies and West and Central Asian partners,” Marco Rubio said.
“The Biden administration’s disastrous decision to withdraw has made Afghanistan a safe haven for terrorists who hate America,” he said.
Four senators have also written to Secretary of State Tony Blinken demanding that the Taliban be designated a terrorist organization.
