Although the district administration had offered to send his body to his native village by plane to his relatives, they refused.

I will no longer be in Bhagalpur, but here in Srinagar to express my consolation with his brother and other family members.

Meanwhile, the state administration has provided an ex-gratia of Rs.1.25 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased for immediate help.

He used to sell gol gappas on a handcart in Madinsahab, Lalbazar area of Srinagar. The terrorists shot him last evening. He died on the road near his handcart before being taken to the hospital.

The Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir, also known as Islamic State Vilaya Hind, has claimed responsibility for his murder.

The murder of an innocent is the murder of the entire humanity. Virendra Paswan had come here from Bihar to earn a living.

What had happened to that poor person? Those who killed him have defamed Kashmir, Kashmiris, and Islam.
