Big Relaxation Is Given In Election Campaign By ECI

Big relaxation is given in election campaigns, now more than 50 percent of people will be able to participate in rallies and meetings.

There has been a big relaxation on the campaigning for the assembly elections on Tuesday. The Election Commission has also removed the 50 percent limit on election rallies.

Now more than fifty percent of people can participate in political parties, candidate meetings, rallies, roadshows.

The commission has also allowed roadshows subject to SDMA rules and with the prior permission of the district authorities.

Big relaxation is given in election campaigns: Other existing provisions relating to election campaigns will continue as they are.

The Election Commission has taken this decision regarding the election campaign of the electoral states of Manipur and Uttar Pradesh in view of the decline in the cases of corona in the country.

Announcing the election schedule on January 8, the Election Commission had banned all physical rallies, roadshows, processions, and vehicle rallies till January 15 due to the rise in corona cases.

On February 6, the Election Commission had fixed a 50 percent capacity limit for rallies or meetings in indoor venues and a 30 percent capacity limit in outdoor venues.

Along with this, it was asked to follow the rules of physical distance and corona protocol. However, during this period the commission had upheld the ban on roadshows, processions, and vehicle rallies.

Assembly elections are pending in Manipur and Uttar Pradesh.

Let us tell you that Uttarakhand and Goa went to the polls on February 14, while Punjab went to the polls on February 20.

In Uttar Pradesh, polling was held in three phases on February 10, February 14, and February 20.

The remaining phases of polling will be held on February 23, February 27, March 3, and March 7. Manipur will go to the polls in two phases on February 27 and March 3.
