Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed historical Shri Akshar. Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Swaminarayan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Swami Brahmaviharidas, head of international relations of the agency, BAPS, said that the seven peaks have idols of Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, Lord Jagannath, Lord Krishna, Lord Swaminarayan, Tirupati Balaji and Lord Ayyappa.

He also said that the seven peaks represent the seven emirates of the UAE.

According to Swami Brahmaviharidas, the purpose of these peaks is to promote unity and harmony in the multicultural scenario.

To give equal representation to the host country, the temple also includes elephants, camels, and lions that have a prominent place in Indian mythology, as well as the UAE’s national bird, the eagle.

Camel is a symbol of endurance.

Stone carving craftsman Somsingh said the camel, a symbol of determination, commitment, and endurance, has been carved in the temple carvings taking inspiration from the landscape of the UAE.

The temple consists of two ghumats (domes), 12 samarans (dome-like structures) and 402 pillars.

‘Dome of Peace’ and ‘Dome of Harmony’ are among the two domes that further enhance the beauty of the temple.
