Bajrang Punia and Valarivan were chosen as the best players.
Wrestler Bajrang Punia, who won the Tokyo Olympic quota, and young shooter Elavenil Valarivan have been awarded with high honors.
Bajrang Poonia and Valarivan were adjudged the best players of this year at the Federation of Indian Commerce and Industry (FICCI) India Sports Awards 2020.
The award ceremony was held during the 10th Global Sports Summit.
FICCI was done online on the occasion of TURF 2020. The winners were selected keeping in mind the performance and contribution of the last one year (2019-20).
Bajrang said, “I would like to thank the jury and FICCI for this award. Such awards motivate me to do well.”
At the same time, Valarivan said, “I would like to thank Mentor Gagan Narang and my coach Neha Chauhan with my family.”
Radhakrishna Nair was adjudged the best coach while Sundar Singh Gurjar and Simran Sharma were adjudged the best para-athlete of the year.
The Paralympic Committee of India and the Wrestling Federation of India were awarded the National Sports Federation of the Year Award.

Former Australia captain and current batsman Steve Smith on Thursday tested his batting depth against India with an injury to his top order.
Opener David Warner is out of the first Test to be played in Adelaide, while his potential replacement player Will Bukowski is recovering from a bouncer injury during the tour match.
Joe Burns is also struggling for consecutive runs. In such a situation, Smith said Australia would know how well they would face their batting lineup.
Smith said, “I think the depth in our batting is obviously going to come with some potential new players, because David Warner is out. We will have a Test in front of India’s good bowling lineup.
There will be anybody in the team, but We all have to do our work and end this summer season well. ”
However, Uncapped Pukowski has not traveled with the team for the last Pink Ball practice test match to begin in Sydney on Friday.
