The minister said that a committee will be formed soon for the new education policy. The department will encourage students towards technical education by going to schools. The minister said that this is the tunnel of dreams of the Lahuli. So every Lahuli is eagerly awaiting the opening moment. The people of Lahul will remember former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his friend Arjun Gopal. In 2002, the former Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the road at the South Portal of Rohtang. The Congress took ten years to start the tunnel work.

Preparations will be reviewed on Monday in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to dedicate the Atal Tunnel Rohtang to the nation. Chief Secretary Anil Khachi will take feedback regarding preparations with Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Chief Medical Officers of Kullu and Lahul Spiti districts in a meeting to be held through video conferencing
