Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the Delhi Excise Scam case, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against his arrest. He did, however, withdraw his Supreme Court petition.

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Arvind Kejriwal, told the Supreme Court that Kejriwal is withdrawing the petition in the Supreme Court because he has to appear during the day.

Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna.

He said since the remand proceedings are before the trial court during the day, it will clash with the hearing in the apex court, he should This petition should be allowed to be withdrawn.

The top court advised his lawyer to go to the trial court.

Singhvi was advised by Justice Khanna, “You can go to the trial court first. Just send the registry an email.”

“I will write a letter to the registry,” declared Singhvi. To make it convenient for your lordship, I had to bring it up again before this court.”

The action was taken just hours after Justice Khanna informed Singhvi that a three-judge panel will consider Kejriwal’s appeal against his arrest throughout the day.

Following his ED detention, Kejriwal moved the Supreme Court late Thursday night.

He was taken into custody just hours after the Delhi High Court rejected the Aam Aadmi Party national convenor’s request for immunity from the agency’s coercive measures.
