Al Jazeera Journalist Killing: Tension in Israel and America over the investigation into the death of Al Jazeera reporter.
Israel and the US have been at loggerheads over the investigation into the death of Palestinian-American Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed during an Israeli raid in May this year.
Israel confirmed on Monday that the US Department of Justice has launched its investigation, but it is a grave mistake by the US, and Israel will not cooperate.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) raided the West Bank city of Jenin in May this year, during which Al Jazeera senior reporter Shireen Abu Akleh lost her life.

The Israeli army had said that it was highly possible that the reporter’s life was lost in the action of Israeli troops.
But that some other unfortunate incident could not be ruled out or may have been killed in Palestinian firing
Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that the IDF had conducted a professional and independent investigation into the matter and shared it with the US.
Gantz said that we have sent a message to the American representatives saying that we stand with the soldiers of the IDF.
We will not accept any outside inquiries. We would consider any such investigation as outside interference in our internal affairs.
When the Al Jazeera journalist was shot, he was wearing a bullet proof jacket and helmet. The press was written on the jacket. The reporter was covering the refugee camp in Jenin.
Israel had clarified and said that one of their jawans had fired by mistake, he thought that he was a terrorist. Even the Prime Minister of Israel had said that he would not take any action against his soldier.
