Journalist Marawi said that Pakistan is still fighting for independence after 73 years as the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other areas are yet to get independence.

She said on the eve of Pakistan’s Independence Day, which is celebrated on 14 August, that Pakistan marks 73 years of independence, but Pakistan is still struggling for independence.

She tweeted, “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan’s part of Kashmir, Media, Parliament, Activist, 1000 missing people, … no one is free. Happy birthday Pakistan!

Pakistan treats the minorities living in the country like Shias, Ahmadis, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians worse. Prime Minister Imran Khan once again raised the Kashmir issue during his address to the nation on Independence Day on 14 August.

Hours before the issue of Kashmir was raised by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, an elderly Ahmadi minority community was shot dead by the attackers in Peshawar.

For years, minority communities in Pakistan such as the Baloch, Pashtun, Mahajir, Kashmiri, Baltis, Christians and Hindus have been facing persecution at the hands of both the Government and the Army of Pakistan.

On Friday, Voice for Sindhi Missing Persons and other human rights organizations organized a protest rally in Sindh to express solidarity with the families of the missing persons.

During this time they shouted slogans, ‘Yeh jo Dehshaggardi, Uniform Behind It’. That is, they are clearly saying that uniforms are involved behind these terrorist activities and this is their target on the Pakistani Army.

The Pakistan Police used force to stop the protesters, including family members and human rights activists of the missing persons outside the Karachi Press Club.
