Apart from Jagannathpuri, there is a 200-year-old temple of Lord Jagannath in Lucknow, which was built by Nawab Asafuddaula of Awadh.
After the construction of this temple was completed, got the moon was installed on its dome, which is still present today. The records of this temple could be very interesting.
Let us tell you that the temple is built at a short distance from Chinhat and Malheur railway stations. This whole area is famous by the name Sarai Sheikh.
This entire temple is made of Lakhori bricks. On entering this temple, Lord Ganesha is on the right side and Garuda is on the left side.

Jagannath is seated in front with sister Subhadra and elder brother Balaram. Shaligram is also God.
Now let’s talk about the idol because of which this entire temple has been built. In this temple, there is a statue of the black-colored quadrilateral Lord Vishnu above Lord Jagannath.
According to locals, earlier a widow woman used to live in this area who had returned from Odisha Puri Yatra.
She wanted to go again but due to old age, she could not go to Jagannathpuri. Dev used to believe.
One day Lord Jagannath appeared in his dream and told that there is a Ramganga here, in which there is his quadrilateral black colored statue.
Take it out from there and install it in a temple for the darshan of the idol.
After this dream, when the widow woman went there the next day, she found a real black-colored idol of Lord Vishnu in Ramganga, which she installed in this temple. Which continues to be found in this temple
Famous historian Dr. Yogesh Praveen is no longer with us. He has also told this story in his book Lucknow Nama considering it as reality.
Impressed by this story, Asafuddaula made this temple grand, whereas earlier only the quadrilateral statue of Lord Vishnu was present here.
Presently the river called Ramganga has now become a drain which is present near this temple.
There is also a 200-year-old proven temple of ‘Lord Jagannath’ in Lucknow, known for its recognition. There is recognition of seven parikramas.
It is said about this temple that all the locks of luck of the one who does seven parikramas of this temple are opened and their wishes are fulfilled.
The temple opens at 6:00 am and closes at 9:30 pm. Aarti is performed at 8:00 in the morning and Aarti is also performed at 8:00 at the night.
People come here on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday to offer special prayers.
