Muthukrishnan, the director, PAPSCO, told Media, “The government has decided to extend the benefit of firecrackers to the general public at 70 percent subsidy.

Almost two years later, the government has allowed the sale of firecrackers in the union territory. We have also set up free vaccination camps in government hospitals.

Vignesh, a resident said, “We are really happy that the government has allowed the sale of firecrackers in Puducherry.

Due to the non-availability of firecrackers in Puducherry, we have celebrated Diwali quietly for the last three years.

With the decrease in the number of coronavirus cases in the Union Territory, the government has given permission to celebrate the festival and we welcome it.
