SIT constituted to investigate Chandigarh University MMS case. 3-member SIT was constituted to investigate Chandigarh University MMS case, with only women officers involved.
On the instructions of the Punjab government, a 3-member SIT has been constituted to investigate the Chandigarh University viral video case in Mohali.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav told that all three members of this special investigation team are women police officers. Senior IPS officer Gurpreet Kaur Dev will head this SIT.
So far, two other arrests have been made in this case including the accused girl. The Director General of Police, Punjab thanked DGP Himachal Pradesh for his excellent cooperation.
He said that the electronic devices have been confiscated and sent for forensic examination. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the SIT will go to the bottom of the conspiracy.
No person involved in this matter will be spared. He appealed to all to maintain peace and harmony.
Also said that people should not pay attention to unverified news and work together for peace in society.
Let us tell you that in the Chandigarh University viral video case, the friend of the accused girl and one of her associates have been arrested from Shimla.
Both the boys arrested from Shimla have been kept in the CIA office of Mohali Police, while the accused girl has been kept at some other place.
All three accused will be presented in court today. Some university girls have claimed that they have been receiving threatening calls from Manitoba, Canada number +1 (204) 819-9002.
A large number of security forces have been deployed on the campus keeping in mind that there is no re-demonstration or any other ruckus.

Senior IPS officer Gurpreet Deo had a conversation with about 20 girl students on the matter late at night.
It is noteworthy that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday assured a high-level inquiry into the matter, terming the incident at Chandigarh University as unfortunate.
The Chief Minister had said that daughters are our pride, dignity, and pride and any such incident is condemnable.
He had said in clear words that any person found involved in this crime would not be spared and the strictest action would be taken against them.
The Chief Minister also appealed to the people not to pay heed to the rumors being spread by anti-social elements.
At the same time, he had warned of action against those spreading rumors on this sensitive issue.
