As soon as the central government announced the vaccination of the age group of 18 to 44 years from May 1, the Uttar Pradesh government supported it and started preparations in this direction from the same day.

The number of people in the age group of 18 to 44 years in the state is 9.28 crore.

For the vaccination of this age group, the state government had immediately ordered the supply of 50-50 lakh doses of vaccine to Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute of India.

Along with this, Uttar Pradesh Medical Supplies Corporation issued a global tender on May 7 for the supply of four crore doses of the corona. The last date to submit the tender online is 21 May.

South Korea, Bharat Biotech, and Serum Institute, attended the pre-bid conference on Wednesday via virtual e-tender in the context of global e-tender.

It was reported by Pfizer that the firm has not received approval from the central government to provide the vaccine in India. Its process is on.

Zydus Cadila’s representative said that his company’s vaccine is under clinical trial. The Central Government’s Drug Control Department has not yet given approval for the manufacture and distribution of the vaccine.

This approval is expected to be received next month. Subbarao of Bharat Biotech urged to reduce the amount of the Ernest money deposit.

He informed the Uttar Pradesh government about the availability of 10 lakh doses of vaccine.

The same Serum Institute representative stated that his firm currently has a lot of vaccine orders pending. Therefore, they will not be able to participate in the tender.

Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal said that the expenditure of eight thousand crore rupees on the purchase of four crore doses of vaccine is estimated.

He said that the State Government will get the Corona vaccine free of cost to all. For this, the government will arrange funds from the state budget.

Kanchan Verma, managing director of Uttar Pradesh Medical Supplies Corporation, said that the global tender for the vaccine has been released as per the guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Asked about the deadline for the supply of vaccines, he said that only after the completion of the tender process on May 21 can something be said about it.
