Surprisingly, more than 100 people were killed in clashes between the Meitei and Cookie communities in Manipur a month ago.

The clashes first occurred on May 3 after a “tribal solidarity march” was organized in the highlands to protest the Meitei community’s demand for designated tribal (ST) status.

The defendant was identified as Praveen from the same locality.
