In this context, Indian-origin Nikki Haley is the only Republican candidate who can compete with frontrunner Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden.

Trump has won the Iowa caucus held on Monday.

Former US President Trump won the caucus with more than 50 percent of the votes, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in second with 21 percent.

At the same time, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Haley stood third with about 20 percent votes.

Talking Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy, he got only 7.7 percent of the total votes, due to which his presidential campaign was postponed.
