The VHP said the Karnataka state cabinet has amended the KTPP, allowing four per cent reservation only for Muslims falling under category 2B in civil works contracts up to Rs 2 crore and up to Rs 1 crore in contracts for goods and services. This reservation is entirely based on religion, which is unacceptable. According to Article 15 of the Constitution, there should be no discrimination based on religion, race, caste, sex, or place of birth.
