Tirath Singh Rawat Is The New CM Of Uttarakhand

Tirath Rawat, MP from Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat, will be the 10th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.

At the BJP Legislature Party meeting held at the BJP State Headquarters in Dehradun on Wednesday, Tirath Singh Rawat was unanimously elected as the leader of the Legislature Party.

All were surprised to be chosen as the leader of Tirath, as he was not being named among the top contenders. He will take oath at Raj Bhavan at four o’clock in the evening. Five to six ministers can also take the oath with them.

Will carry forward the development work done in four years.

After getting the responsibility for the post of CM, Tirath Singh Rawat said, “I thank PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and the party, who trusted me.” The only party worker who comes from a small village.

I never thought that I would reach here. We will try to meet the expectations of the people and carry forward the work done in the last four years.

Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned as Chief Minister on Tuesday evening when he returned to Dehradun after meeting the central leadership after four days of political upheaval.

A meeting of the BJP Legislature Party was called in Dehradun on Wednesday morning to elect a new leader.

National vice-president and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and state BJP in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam were present in the meeting as a central observer.

All the MPs were also called to the meeting.

In addition to Rajya Sabha members from Uttarakhand and BJP’s national media in-charge, Anil Baluni, five Lok Sabha members, and Rajya Sabha members Naresh Bansal attended the meeting.

These included Haridwar MP and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Pauri Garhwal MP Tirath Singh Rawat, Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt, and Almora MP Ajay Tamta.

The meeting commenced at around 11 am, in which Acting Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat proposed the name of Tirath Singh Rawat, which was unanimously approved.

Tirath Singh Rawat has been the Minister of State for Education in the first Interim Government of Uttarakhand. He also has experience in the organization.

Importantly, Tirath was not considered ahead of the contenders for the post of Chief Minister.

Union Minister Nishank, MP Ajay Bhatt, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, and Minister of State Dhan Singh Rawat were being included among the contenders for the Chief Minister’s post in the Trivandra government.

Tirath Singh Rawat will be sworn in as the 10th Chief Minister of the state at Raj Bhavan at 4 pm on Wednesday.
