According to the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Satpal Maharaj, with the commencement of pilgrimage-tourism activities in this frontier region through Timmarsain Yatra, employment opportunities will increase.

This will prevent migration there. It is also very important for the security of the country.

Timmarsain is near Neeti village in Neeti valley, about 82 km from Joshimath in Chamoli district.

There is a small cave of Lord Mahadev here, where Shivalinga is made like Baba Barfani Amarnath in winter.

Local residents worship Lord Mahadev there during the winter, but due to the restrictions of the inner line, people from other places were deprived of the darshan of Baba Barfani.

In view of this, the government started a workout to get Timmarsain out of the inner line.

According to Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj, he had sent letters in this regard to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat.

He said that now the Union Home Ministry has removed Timmarsain from the inner line. With this, the state government has decided to start the Timmarsain Yatra from March.

Its preparations have been started. He said that now Timmarsain will draw attention of the country and the world.

Cabinet Minister Maharaj said that snow cutter and other equipments are being made available on the Joshimath-Neeti motorway. Ice will be removed through them.

Also other arrangements are being made. He said that similar steps would be taken in other frontier areas of the state like Timmarsain.

What is inner line

Such an area of ​​strategic importance is declared as the inner line, which is located near the border of other countries. Only local people can enter these areas.

Foreigners have to get an inner line permit to go there. They can roam in the area coming to the inner line only for a fixed period. Can not rest at night.
