On Monday evening, one of the two civilians injured in the ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Shopian district succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
Three terrorists hiding in the residential area managed to escape under the cover of civilians. A jawan of the security forces was also injured in this encounter.
However, the security forces are continuing their operation to search for the terrorists. Security forces say that these terrorists were hiding in a house in a residential area.

Police said that the terrorists managed to escape under the guise of local people.
He said that one of the two local civilians injured this morning, Shahid Gani Dar son Abdul Gani Dar resident Pandoshan Shopian succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
However, the condition of other injured civilian Shoheb Ahmed Mantu and security personnel Sanjeev Das is said to be better. Both are being treated at the Army’s 92 Base Hospital.
After getting injured during the encounter, all three were taken to the hospital with the help of a helicopter.

The shots were fired from both sides for about half an hour and after that, the terrorists managed to escape from there.

A joint working group of Army, Police, and CRPF launched a search operation as soon as the security forces received information about the sighting of a group of terrorists in Pandoshan, Shopian.
Seeing the security forces approaching their hideout, the terrorists tried to escape from there and fired indiscriminately with their automatic weapons. They also threw a grenade at the security forces.
Two villagers were injured in the indiscriminate firing by the terrorists while trying to escape. Responding to the bullets of the terrorists, the soldiers took out both the injured villagers from there.
Both of them have been taken by helicopter to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to evacuate the civilians, army personnel also became the target of the bullets of the terrorists and was seriously injured.
