The Government Sticks To Its Policy Of Privatization: Sitharaman

The government sticks to its policy of privatization will continue to work ahead: Sitharaman.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the government is sticking to its policy of privatization and will continue to work on it.

She said that except for some strategic sectors, all sectors are open to privatization. In a program organized by the industry body Ph.D.

Chamber of Commerce (PHDCCI) for a dialogue on the budget, Sitharaman said that a new India will be built not only by the government’s work but by the private sector coming forward and working.

She said that the private sector has been invited to join Team India to build a new India.

The government sticks to its policy of privatization.

The Finance Minister said that an expenditure of Rs 7.5 lakh crore has been announced in the budget for the construction of new infrastructure.

That is 35 percent more than the capital expenditure of the current financial year.

She said that along with the construction of new infrastructure, old infrastructure would also be taken care off.

She said that infrastructure has been created in the past too, but they were not connected properly which did not reduce the cost of transport and did not become a part of facilitating the supply chain.5

She said that two types of means would be developed to connect each other.

One resource will be based on natural resources and the other will be developed by entrepreneurs. These facilities for transport and interconnection will be connected to the economic zone.

Apart from this, economic corridors and logistics hubs will be built and all this construction will be done under the Gatishakti program.

This will lead to an increase in investment and a higher return on investment due to lower costs.

Sitharaman said that more than 1400 rules were abolished in the last seven-eight years for the ease of doing business.
