Terrorists involved in Sopore attack identified, will be punished soon: Jammu Kashmir DGP.

The Director General of Police (DGP) of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbagh Singh said on Saturday that the terrorists involved in the Sopore attack and their organization (Lashkar) have been identified.

Soon they will be punished for their actions.

Tribute paid to martyr policemen.

The DGP was interacting with journalists after paying tributes to the police personnel martyred in the attack in a soulful ceremony.

Dilbag Singh said that a contingent of policemen from Sopore police station had gone to Armpora for COVID duty and was attacked there.

He said that here in Kashmir, the police and other security forces are working in extremely unfavorable and dangerous conditions.

Our responsibility is such that we have to work many times while in danger. It is our endeavor that whoever has been involved in this incident should be punished as per law as soon as possible.

Security forces dominate terrorists.

On the question regarding the recent increase in terrorist violence in the valley, he said that the police and other security agencies are completely dominating the terrorists.

The situation in the plaintiff is under control. Terrorists sometimes do some sensational acts to make their presence felt.

If the situation is assessed, you yourself will feel that instead of increasing, terrorist violence is continuously decreasing.

He said that soon the remaining terrorists in the Kashmir Valley will be eliminated.

Although all meaningful efforts will continue from the police and security forces to connect the misguided youth with the main stream, but terrorist incidents will not be tolerated.

Sopore police station in-charge transferred.

Sopore police station in-charge Azim Iqbal has been removed after the terrorist attack on Saturday in Sopore.

In his place, the police administration has appointed Inspector Khalid Fayaz as the station in-charge of Sopore. Azim Iqbal has been asked to report to the South Kashmir Police Range.
