Telangana Liberation Day: Amit Shah to visit Telangana on September 17. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Telangana on September 17.

The Home Minister will address a function organized on the occasion of Liberation Day in the Nirmal district here. This information was given by BJP MP from Adilabad Soyam Bapu Rao.

Rao said that earlier the Telangana government could not celebrate this function under pressure from the AIMIM party.

The MP further said, ‘BJP has repeatedly demanded in front of the government to celebrate September 17 as Liberation Day as Telangana got independence from Nizam’s rule.’

A meeting will be held at Nirmal, the district headquarters town near Adilabad, in memory of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives against the Nizam and Razakar.

Although the country became independent on 15 August 1947, the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad (under the rule of the Nizam) merged with India on 17 September 1948.

Let us inform you that recently Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao visited New Delhi for five days and also met Amit Shah.

The Home Minister was requested to increase the strength of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers for the state in view of the creation of more districts and full financial assistance for road works in Naxal affected areas.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Rao, who is on a five-day visit to the national capital, met Shah for about 45 minutes and discussed in detail the need to increase the IPS cadre strength in the state from 139 to 195.

He also requested full financial cooperation for road construction works in Naxal affected districts.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister informed that the State Government has reorganized and created 33 districts after two years of the formation of a new State for better implementation of welfare and development programs.

He said that the reorganized districts have been recognized by the Central Government.
