Telangana HC directs inquiry into Cheating of Covid-19 Patient, Pvt hospital discharges the body. The Telangana HC on Friday ordered the state health authorities to direct an investigation into asserted cheating by a private hospital here for rewarding a COVID-19 patient, who died two days back, as it communicated dismay about such high charges.

The hospital’s direction educated the court that the body of the man was given over (to municipal specialists) and the incineration performed on Friday evening.

Justice Vinod Kumar passed the request on an appeal by the casualty’s better half, a day by day wage worker, who had additionally presented that the hospital wouldn’t hand over the body referring to the pending contribution of Rs 6.41 lakh toward treatment charges.

The lady’s 49-year-old spouse, who filled in as a gatekeeper, was admitted to the hospital on July 13 with high fever and respiratory issues, later tried positive for COVID-19 and died on July 22.

The Appointed authority communicated despondency about the high bills charged by the private hospital for treatment of COVID-19 patients and watched it was contrary to the rules and rates fixed by the government.

The lady in her request has asserted that the hospital the executives didn’t hand over her better half’s’ remaining parts over non-installment of parity measure of treatment cost to the tune of Rs 6.41 lakh against the all-out bill of Rs 8.91 lakh.

She had paid Rs 2.50 lakh in the wake of obtaining it. Looking to proclaim the emergency clinic’s’ activities as unlawful and subjective, she mentioned the court to give a request guiding the hospital to hand over her better half’s body without demanding the installment of the parity sum.

Her insight Y Balaji contended that the hospital charged a measure of Rs 8.91 lakh for the patient for nine days which is high and against the Telangana Government’s’ Request fixing the charges for private hospital.

He presented that according to the GO, the emergency clinic needs to charge just Rs 81,000 (ICU with ventilator and separation charges of Rs 9,000 every day) except it raised an all-out bill of Rs 8.91 lakh and requested installment of the equalization for giving over the body.

Guiding the state health specialists to lead an investigation into the high charges collected by the hospital, the appointed authority requested the hospital, the state Home and health department to document their counter individual affirmations inside about a month and a half and posted the issue after that for an additional meeting.
