Team India Also Lost The ODI Series After Test Series: Ind vs SA

Team India also lost the ODI series after the Test, due to these reasons, the defeat in the second ODI.

After the defeat in the Test series, the host team also faced defeat in the ODI series.

Half-centuries from Jaaneman Malan and Quinton de Kock helped South Africa win the second ODI by seven wickets in Paarl on Friday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

Rishabh Pant hit a career-best 85 off 71 balls as India posted a competitive score of 287 for six in 50 overs. But this score proved to be dwarf in front of the innings of Malan and Dekock.

Malan scored 91 runs in 108 balls with the help of eight fours and one six, while Dikak scored 78 runs in 66 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes.

On the basis of these two innings, South Africa scored 288 runs for three wickets in 48.1 overs and won the match and the series.

Team India also lost the ODI series: Major reasons for Team India’s defeat in the second ODI.

Top-order did not play as expected.

After winning the toss, captain KL Rahul was batting at one end while Shikhar Dhawan (29 off 38 balls) at the other end could not convert a good start into big innings.

Markram once again broke the Indian opening partnership by dismissing Dhawan. Dhawan and Rahul shared a 63-run partnership.

Former captain Kohli was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj without opening the account. In view of the weak middle order, one of these three batsmen needed to play big innings, but it did not happen.

Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer disappointed.

Rishabh Pant played brilliant innings. After spending some time at the crease, he made easy big shots against both the South African left-arm spinners Keshav Maharaj (1/52) and Tabrez Shamsi (2/57).

Pant and Rahul (55 off 79 balls) shared a 115-run partnership in less than 19 overs. Pant was more aggressive and scored runs smoothly against medium pace bowlers and spinners.

Shreyas Iyer (11 off 14 balls) and Venkatesh Iyer (22 off 33 balls) struggled to score runs after both were dismissed.

The South African bowlers did not allow the Indian batsmen to play free from the 33rd to the 44th over.

Bowlers could not take wickets with the new ball.

Shardul Thakur (40 not out in 38 balls) and Ravichandran Ashwin (40 not out in 38 balls) took the team to a competitive score.

When Team India came out to bowl, it could not take wickets with the new ball. Both the openers Quinton de Kock and Jaaneman Malan scored openly for the hosts.

Jasprit Bumrah and Ashwin mostly bowled in the first 10 overs. Just one over from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He looked out of form throughout the match.

Ashwin and Chahal did not look effective.

While Team India’s batsmen were finding it difficult to play Markram, Keshav Maharaj, and Tarbez Shamsi on the spinner-friendly wicket.

the visiting team’s spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal were not looking effective.

South African batsmen were playing both comfortably. Ashwin gave 68 runs in 10 overs and did not take any wicket. At the same time, Chahal took one wicket for 47 runs.

Change in bowling at the wrong time.

KL Rahul removed Shardul Thakur from the bowling when he took a wicket. On the last ball of the 22nd over, Shardul dismissed Dekock.

After this Venkatesh Iyer was given the bowling in the 24th over. Perhaps then Rahul’s thinking was to get a few overs out quickly.

However, then Team India needed to attack. Had he got a couple of wickets, the match could have turned the tables.
