At present, there are more than one lakh workers in Kashmir who are coming and living from other states. These people work from carpentry, construction work, agriculture, horticulture to wages.

Close to one thousand people set up street vendors only in Srinagar. The people of Kashmir depend on them for many things. For a few days, terrorists have started targeting these people selectively.

A day earlier on Saturday also, two people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were killed by terrorists. One of them used to sell gol gappas and the other was a carpenter.

Earlier also the terrorists had shot the street vendors of Gol Gappa. After this, two teachers were targeted.

After this panic started growing among the people of other states living in Kashmir and some families also migrated.

Now after the attacks once again, the situation is becoming the same again. They are afraid that terrorists might target them.

Although the police had detained hundreds of suspects for interrogation last time after these incidents, despite this, people are worried about fewer terrorist incidents.

He says that life matters more than employment. If there is life, then you will find work anywhere. Sahajanand, a street vendor in Srinagar, hails from Bihar.

He has been living in Srinagar with his family for ten years. He says that he has not installed a street vendor for a few days. Salim hails from Uttar Pradesh.

He is also living in Srinagar. He says that last week two families who knew him had returned to the village. Now they are also scared.

He says that thousands of people here belong to his state. The government is saying that nothing will happen but there is a lot of fear.

People from many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar living in Srinagar, and many other districts are also hesitant to talk.

He says that earlier this did not happen, but now even leaving the house is scared. However, the local people do not want anyone to go out of Kashmir.

The reason is clear that these people have an important role in Kashmir from agriculture to horticulture. This is what even the barbershops do.

Atiq Hussain, a local resident of Srinagar, says that people from many states are living in Kashmir. These people help us in many things.

It has become a part of Kashmir itself. In such a situation, no one wants anyone to go from here. Everyone will be affected by this.

Former Director-General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dr. SP Vaid says that despite having tight security arrangements, the attack on these people is a failure of intelligence somewhere.

Such incidents will create fear among the people living in Kashmir from other states. This will also hurt the common man of Kashmir.

He said that people do the work of carpenters from street vendors in Kashmir. Agriculture and horticulture also play an important role.

If panic increases and migration takes place among these people, then it will make the life of the people of Kashmir miserable.

The government should take the necessary steps so that migration does not happen.

On the other hand, Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar says that it is not possible to give security to everyone. But in the areas where these people are living, the surveillance of those areas has been increased.
