On this, the goddess replied that in the palms of women resides Dev Guru Brihaspati and in the feet of men resides Daityaguru Shukracharya.

That’s why they keep pressing the feet of God so that together with the meeting of both the gods and demons, Shukracharya remains under control.

According to another legend, the goddess does this to keep her sister Alakshmi away from the Lord, who causes poverty, misery, and discord.
