A Swedish national has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly assaulting a group member on an Indigo flight from Bangkok.

Authorities released this information on Saturday. Police said the defendant was identified as Klaas Erik Harald Jonas (63 years old).

The arrested passengers had been recognized as Dattatreya Bapardekar and John George D`Souza, Both the passengers were drunk.

DCP Dixit Gedam, Mumbai Police told a leading news agency earlier this month that two IndiGo passengers had been arrested.

Cases have been registered under  Section 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 21, 22, and 25 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) ) on the plane because of drunkenness and misconduct with the crew.

The two were officially arrested, but because parts could be released they were released on bail by the police department itself. According to police, the incident happened on March 22.

Passengers John George D’Souza and Dattatreya Anand Bapardekar are said to have started drinking after boarding an Indigo flight from Dubai to Mumbai.

When the crew learned of this, they informed them of the in-flight drinking ban. But the two angry defendants rose from their seats and began to engage in a passionate engagement.
