Suvendu Requested The Governor To Intervene: West Bengal

Suvendu requested the Governor to intervene due to the fear of ‘vengeance’: Bengal Assembly Elections.

Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar said on Wednesday that former minister Suvendu Adhikari has requested him to intervene .

So that the state police does not implicate him in a criminal case under ‘political vendetta’.

Sharing a copy of a letter written by the officer to the governor, Dhankhar said that he was taking “expected steps”.

The letter came hours after Suvendu resigned as MLA amid discussions of leaving the Trinamool Congress and joining the BJP.

The officer said in the letter, “As the constitutional head, I am compelled to request you to intervene.

So that the police and the administration in the state are motivated by politics and not retaliated by entangling me and my colleagues in the criminal case . ” The letter has been shared by the Governor on his Twitter.

Claiming to step down from the minister’s post in the spirit of duty and public welfare, the officer wrote that due to a change in political stance, the authority may incite retaliation against him.

He has urged the Governor to take appropriate steps so that the police and administration people do not implicate him in a politically motivated false case.

Trinamool Congress leader Suvendu Adhikari reached the assembly on Wednesday evening and resigned as MLA.

He first sent his resignation from the Eamale to Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vimyan Bandyopadhyay, as he was not in the assembly.

After this, the resignation was handed over to the office of Assembly Secretary Abhijeet Som.

The assembly speaker has also accepted the resignation letter. However, he said that I would see the resignation after going to office.

It is reported that he will also resign from the party membership in the next two days. It is now quite clear that he is going to join the BJP.

It is reported that on 18 December Suvendu is going to Delhi where PM will meet Narendra Modi.

The next day on December 19, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting Bengal and he will go to Medinipur.

It is being said that Suvendu will join the BJP in Shah’s presence in his hometown Medinipur.

Suvendu, an MLA from the Nandigram constituency, resigned from the state cabinet last month and had been keeping a distance from the party leadership for some time.
