In the Maratha reservation case, the Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to all the state governments asking whether it was right to give reservations up to 50 percent.
The matter will be heard in court every day from 15 March. Let us tell you that on Monday, the Supreme Court started hearing on the petitions filed in the year 2018 law of Maharashtra.
The court said that it is necessary to hear all the states on the matter of reservation, therefore, by issuing a notice to the state government.
The question is whether the reservation limit can be increased beyond 50 percent? The hearing on the Maratha reservation has been deferred till March 15.
A five-judge bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan is hearing the case. It also has Justice L Nageswara Rao, Justice S Abdul Nazir, Justice Hemant Gupta, and Justice S Ravindra Bhat.
Earlier, the bench had said that it would also hear arguments on the issue of whether the landmark verdict in the Indira Sawhney case, known as the Mandal judgment, needs to be reconsidered.
During the hearing of the case today, Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi said that this case also contains an interpretation of Article 342A.
In such a situation it can affect all the states, hence a petition has been filed. In this, the court should listen to all the states. Mukul Rohatgi said that a decision cannot be given in this matter without hearing all the states.

Explain that earlier during the hearing in a rape case, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde of the Supreme Court had asked the accused if he was willing to marry the victim.
After the matter came to light, a number of women’s rights organizations, intellectuals, writers, and eminent citizens wrote letters demanding the withdrawal of comments from the Chief Justice.
