Sunil Jakhar Against Congress In-Charge Harish Rawat

Sunil Jakhar against Congress in-Charge Harish Rawat. New uproar in Punjab Congress, now conflict between State President Sunil Jakhar and Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat.

A new controversy has arisen in the Punjab Congress. Now Congress state president Sunil Jakhar and state in-charge of the party Harish Rawat have got involved. Both leaders are face to face after Rawat’s statement on the party’s position in Punjab.

Now Jakhar has said that the party’s interests are supreme. Therefore, the state in-charge of Harish Rawat feels that if any other leader can strengthen the organization, then he can negotiate with Rahul Gandhi and choose the new head.

Sunil Jakhar said- Make someone else head, Harish Rawat

Jakhar said this in response to the statement of the state in-charge of Harish Rawat. While talking to a leading media agency, Rawat had said that not much work was done to strengthen the organization in Punjab.

Not only this, the Congress in Punjab is relying more on the weakness of the other party than its strength, whereas there is a need to balance it.

Sunil Jakhar- My resignation was rejected by Sonia Gandhi, talk to Rahul Gandhi instead of media.

Jakhar said that Harish Rawat had raised the matter loudly in the Congress Legislature Party meeting that instead of going to the media, the party MLAs should talk to them and raise the issue on the party forum itself.

It would have been better if Harish Rawat would have talked to Rahul Gandhi about the organization rather than present himself in the media.

Jakhar resigned after Lok Sabha elections

Sunil Jakhar resigned from the party’s state head post after failing to complete Mission 13 (the target of winning 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab) in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 and himself losing the election from Gurdaspur.

Jakhar’s resignation was rejected by Sonia Gandhi after she became the interim president of the Congress at that time.

The party structure has been broken since January 2020

The party structure was disbanded in January 2020, except for the state head. In August, the list of party officials was prepared and sent to the party high command, which has not yet been approved by the party high command.

Meanwhile, Congress replaced former state in-charge Asha Kumari and appointed Harish Rawat as the new in-charge. At the same time, now Harish Rawat says that it may take about two months more time to prepare the new structure.

Signs of big fight in the party

Jakhar says, there is still one year left for elections in Punjab. In such a situation, a new head can be selected which can strengthen the party. There is a clear indication from this statement of the state head that in the coming time, there may be a big battle in the Congress.
