Success For People Of Tamil Nadu, 27% Reservation For OBC

Success for the people of Tamil Nadu, 27% reservation for OBC in postgraduate medical studies – MK Stalin happy.

Chief Minister MK Stalin has welcomed the Supreme Court ruling confirming 27 percent reservation for OBCs in postgraduate medical studies.

In a statement issued by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin.

He said, ‘I welcome the Supreme Court’s ruling that 27 percent reservation will go to other backward classes where the states provide for the All India package in postgraduate medical courses.

As a result of the relentless struggle of the DMK for the last several years in the political arena and in the courts, for the first time,  OBC reservation in all-India constituencies will come into effect from this year.

This is a very important victory for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the people of Tamil Nadu who have an understanding and deep attachment to social justice.

An important milestone in the history of social justice: 4,000 students from backward communities across India will benefit from this every year.

I am happy and proud that the DMK is the movement that has joined and argued in the Supreme Court case for the benefit of millions of backward people across the country.

The struggle waged by the DMK and the social justice movement in Tamil Nadu has given rights to the oppressed people across India.

This victory is in line with the contribution made by Tamil Nadu to the implementation of the Mandal Committee recommendations!

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all those who supported and contributed to this struggle with great satisfaction.

I am proud to recall that the DMK argued in Parliament and in the House of Commons against the continued denial of the rights of the legally backward people by the dominant forces.

We won litigation in the High Court and the Supreme Court. Now the corporation has thwarted an attempt to block it as a final step, arguing in the Supreme Court.
