However, this is just the beginning. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is going to be severe heat in the next three months i.e. from April to June.

In such a situation, it is important to protect yourself from heatwaves to keep yourself healthy. To avoid this, one has to take some precautions as well as take special care of the diet.

Lemonade.

As soon as summer arrives, sugarcane juice becomes available everywhere. In this season people drink it with great enthusiasm. This desi drink has many benefits.

It contains glucose and electrolytes, which help in cooling the body and keep us full of energy throughout the day.

Not only this, it is also safe for diabetic patients, because it has a lower glycemic index than sugar. Apart from this, it also makes the kidneys, digestive system, and skin healthy.

Buttermilk.

Buttermilk is also a very popular drink in India. It is considered best in summer, as it keeps you hydrated throughout the season. Buttermilk is a dairy product rich in calcium, which keeps our bones strong.

Sattu.

Sattu is found especially in summer. Although it is liked all over the country, it is more popular in Bihar. It is prepared from grains like barley and gram.

It helps in cooling the body and is also more nutritious than other drinks. Apart from drinks, it is also eaten by filling it with paratha, puri, or litti.

Coconut Water.

You can beat the summer with just one glass of coconut water. Apart from being tasty, it is also very beneficial for health.

It is a natural drink, which removes water deficiency in the body and helps in restoring the electrolyte level. Not only this, it helps in fighting fatigue and keeps you active throughout the day.
