Snowfall in Kedarnath: Snowfall has started in Kedarnath, and the Meteorological Department has issued a rain and hailstorm alert for several districts in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun and Haridwar. A drop in temperature is expected as cold conditions intensify.

The weather department has issued a warning of a hailstorm with thunder in seven districts of the state including Dehradun, and Haridwar.

Along with this, light rain may occur in some places in the hilly districts. Due to this, there are chances of mercury falling and chill increasing in the morning and evening. There were chances of rain till late at night, but it did not rain. Apart from this, the maximum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, four degrees Celsius above normal. However, a drop in mercury was recorded in the evening. Clouds were hovering in other nearby areas and there was a possibility of rain.
According to the Director of the Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, the mood of the weather may remain changed in most areas of the state today. Hailstorms with thunder and lightning may occur at some places in Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar. There are chances of drizzling at some places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh. Due to this, there are chances of a drop in temperature as well.
The first strong disturbance of February is expected to bring good rainfall to the state on Thursday. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall at most places in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Rudraprayag districts.
Light to moderate rainfall at many places in Champawat, Almora, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, and other districts of the Garhwal division can be a matter of some relief for the farmers. Snowfall may occur on peaks above 2800 meters in high-altitude districts including Pithoragarh and Bageshwar.
The change in weather due to the increase in temperature since mid-February has also caused some trouble. Director of State Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said that there will be a decrease in temperature due to rain and snowfall. On Wednesday, except for partial clouds, the sun remained shining most of the time in Champawat. The wind was a little cold.
Light rain with strong winds has started in Uttarkashi district headquarters and surrounding areas. There is a possibility of snowfall in Gangotri Yamunotri Dham and Harshil Valley. On the other hand, there are dense clouds in Rudraprayag. There is a possibility of rain. Light snowfall has started in Kedarnath.
