Shops set on fire: BJP wins 29 seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party also performed well by winning 29 seats. Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP secured three seats, while Sajjad Gani Lone’s People’s Conference and Aam Aadmi Party won one seat each. The CPI (M) also won one seat. Independents won seven seats.

The BJP got 25.64 percent votes, the National Conference got 23.43 percent, and the Congress got 11.97 percent. This was the first election in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, which divided the country into two union territories.
