Seventh round of negotiations, farmers insistent on their demand, meeting will be held on eight: Farmers Protest.

Monday’s talks between the government and farmers’ organizations over the repeal of agricultural laws and the guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) were also inconclusive.

Due to the obstinate attitude of the farmer organizations, no solution was found. In this seventh round of talks, the farmer leaders stood firm on the demand for cancellation of laws.

They are not less than this or agree to follow some other method. However, both sides have agreed to negotiate again. The eighth round of talks will take place at Vigyan Bhavan on January 8 after 2 pm.

After Monday’s talks, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that there is an eagerness to arrive at a solution between the government and farmer leaders so that the movement can end.

Everyone wants a positive solution to end the movement. However, the impact of the elements that had stalled before the talks started on Monday.

While the government wanted to discuss the provisions of the law one-by-one, the farmer’s organizations refused to do so.

The obstructionists had expressed their intention by issuing written statements outside Vigyan Bhavan even before the negotiations were over.

Fraud in the talks provoked farmers’ organizations fiercely.

There were positive indications from the talks held on 30 December. During that time, two major demands of farmer organizations were agreed.

But those who stalled the negotiations provoked the farmers’ organizations fiercely before Monday’s talks and announced a strategy to intensify the movement.

Since then, the possibility of the derailment of the talks had increased.

Farmer leaders said that the agitation would continue till their demands were met. Will proceed to the strategy already announced. Farmer leaders will not back down in any way.

Some grow, some adamant

Regarding the talks, Agriculture Minister Tomar said that the matter has moved forward since last time. A little bit of MSP was also discussed. But we could not reach any conclusion.

In the next dialogue, both sides have been asked to participate in their respective preparations.

The two most contentious issues of the repeal of new agricultural laws and the legal guarantee of MSP were to be discussed in the seventh round of talks.

But the discussion on the first issue started and ended without any concrete dialogue.

Farmers of other states will also be discussed.

The Agriculture Minister said that the government has kept the overall interests of the farmers in mind while enacting the law.

The government is committed to taking care of various legal aspects of the discussion and the interests of crores of farmers.

Therefore, a decision will be taken keeping the entire country in mind.

Tomar said, “Keeping in mind the interests of farmers, issues related to agrarian reform laws will also be discussed with representatives of farmers’ organizations of other states.

They are ready to make amendments as far as possible after discussing point-by-point provisions of the law. ‘

During the talks, the government’s proposal to interact with other farmer organizations of the country has not been liked by the agitating farmer leaders.
