We will discuss it here with the cricket board and other officials. And the schedule will be made accordingly, so the tournament takes place in a very smooth manner as it was here last year. ”
Shukla said that the decision to invite spectators for the matches is in the hands of the Emirates Cricket Board. For now, there have been 29 matches of IPL 2021 and 31 matches are still remaining.
He says, “Even if the UAE government and the board allow spectators to come, it is fine, even if a certain percentage of spectators are allowed, it is fine and we have no problem even if the tournament is held without an audience. . ”
Senior BCCI official gave a hint: The IPL is expected to begin on September 19, 5 days after India’s Test series ends in England.
Rajiv Shukla himself has indicated this. He says, “We have about 20 days to complete the tournament. Even if we start on September 19, we have to finish it by October 10.
Then there is also a T20 World Cup (October-November). So taking into account the weather and high-class facilities, the UAE was the best option. ”
Regarding hosting the T20 World Cup, he said, “If the situation there (India) is not good at the end of June or maybe the first week of July, then obviously it (T20 World Cup) will come in the UAE.
If the situation (In India) there is improvement and if we are able to host it, then we will host there (in India). ” The ICC meeting on the T20 World Cup is to be held on June 1.
