Security Council bans Sanaullah, the top terrorist of Islamic State- Khorasan.
The UNSC has imposed a series of sanctions on 27-year-old top IS-K terrorist Sanaullah Ghafari, as part of the latest crackdown on Islamic State-linked groups in Afghanistan.
These include confiscation of properties and restrictions on travel and arms.
According to a statement issued by the UNSC Sanctions Committee, Ghafari, an Afghan national, is also known as Dr. Sahab Al Muhajir, Sahab Muhajir, and Sahab Mahajar.
The committee had included Ghafari in its sanctions list on December 21. He is the leader of IS-K since June 2020.
