Scotland To Maintain Winning Streak Against Papua New Guinea

Scotland to maintain winning streak against Papua New Guinea: T20 world cup 2021.

Confident after a resounding win over Bangladesh, Scotland will look to maintain their winning streak in the T20 World Cup match against Papua New Guinea on Tuesday.

Chris Greaves’ all-around performance helped Scotland beat Bangladesh by six runs in the first match. On the other hand, Papua New Guinea was defeated by co-hosts Oman by 10 wickets.

Greaves returned Scotland to the match after scoring 45 runs in 28 balls. He formed fruitful partnerships with Mark Wyatt (51) and Josh Davey (27).

The failure of the top-order batsmen will be a cause for concern for Scotland as all four of their leading batsmen could not go beyond five runs.

Captains Kyle Coetzer and Michael Lisk were also unable to open the account. The bowlers kept up the pressure from the very beginning while performing well.

Wickets kept falling at regular intervals as Scotland registered a resounding victory. Coetzer said, ‘We have to do well in every match. We could not give our best in the last match.

Winning this match will cement Scotland’s claim of reaching the Super-12 stage.

Papua New Guinea, on the other hand, was outplayed by Oman in all departments in the first match.

Now they not only have to win this match but also have to improve the run rate. No batsman could play against Oman except captain Asad Wala and Charles Amini.

At the same time, the bowlers also could not put pressure on the opposing team.

T20WC 2021: Bangladesh vs Oman: Bangladesh will take on Oman in a do-or-die match.

Bangladesh will be looking to overcome their batting woes and register a win when they take on hosts Oman in a do-or-die match on Tuesday after their first loss in the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh entered the tournament as the No. 6 team, having beaten teams like New Zealand and Australia at home.

On Sunday, however, they suffered a six-run defeat against Scotland due to poor batting. Bangladesh had once reduced Scotland’s score to 53 for six but failed to register a win.

Captain Mahmudullah blamed the batting for the surprise defeat, saying they would have to do better against Oman, who beat Papua New Guinea (PNG) in a one-sided encounter.
