According to the report of the news agency AP, Saudi Arabia has said that due to the Corona epidemic, more than 60 thousand people will not be allowed to perform Hajj this year. All these people will be local.

The Saudi Press Agency, run by the government of Saudi Arabia, has said in its report, citing the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, that this year the Haj pilgrimage will start in mid-July.

People in the age group of 18 to 65 years can participate in it. Vaccination is mandatory for Haj pilgrims.

The Saudi Arabian government says that it has taken this decision after deliberating about the health and safety of the pilgrims as well as the security of their country.

It is worth mentioning that last year also Saudi Arabia took a similar decision in view of the Corona epidemic. Last year only about a thousand people already living in Saudi Arabia were selected for Hajj.

Saudi Arabia’s big decision regarding Haj pilgrimage: In this, pilgrims from 160 countries were allowed to participate in the annual Haj pilgrimage.

Under normal circumstances around 20 lakh Muslims perform Hajj every year. Recently, the Ministry of Haj and Umrah had issued a guideline.

According to this, now only those people will be able to enter Al-Masjid un Nawawi and Maslij Al-Haram who have taken both doses of the vaccine.

All able-bodied Muslims are required to perform Hajj once in their lifetime. In October last year, Saudi Arabia allowed closed ‘Umrah’ (Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca) for foreign pilgrims with certain conditions and restrictions.
