S Jaishankar emphasized that compliance with international laws and respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty should be done.

S Jaishankar, citing the recently announced policies on behalf of several countries for the Indo-Pacific region, said that it would not be challenging to adjust various approaches if there is a commitment to international cooperation.

This digital format of the 15th East Asia Summit was presided over by Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Juam Phuc. All the member countries of the East Asia Summit participated in it.

The East Asia Summit group consists of ten ASEAN countries. Apart from this, it includes India, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Russia.

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reiterated the importance of the East Asia Summit during this period and emphasized the need for compliance with international laws, respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, and appreciation of a rule-based global order.

S Jaishankar underlined the need for greater international cooperation in the world to deal with challenges across national boundaries such as terrorism, climate change, and the corona epidemic.

The leaders underscored the importance of cooperation in ensuring safe, effective, and affordable access to COVID-19 vaccines. He called for greater support for the speedy and sustainable economic recovery of global supply chains.
