Russia’s Missile Strike in Kyiv: Russia launches deadly missile strikes on Kyiv, leaving at least 10 dead and dozens injured. The European Union delegation building suffers heavy damage, sparking global outrage and strong condemnation from EU leaders and Ukrainian President Zelensky.
EU delegation building attack
Kyiv witnessed another night of terror as Russia launched a massive missile attack on Wednesday, causing widespread destruction and civilian casualties. The attack caused significant damage to the European Union (EU) delegation building, according to Euro News.
At least 10 people lost their lives and dozens were injured in the strikes on Ukraine’s capital. Fortunately, no casualties were reported inside the EU mission, but the damage to the building has raised international concerns.
European Union Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova condemned the attack, calling it “Moscow’s true response to peace efforts.” European Council President Antonio Costa expressed horror over the strike and reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to stand by Ukraine.
“The European Union will not be afraid. Our determination to stand behind Ukraine and its people is only strengthened by Russia’s aggression,” Costa said. EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos also denounced Russia’s actions and expressed solidarity with Ukrainian citizens.
Russia’s Missile Strike in Kyiv: Zelensky’s statement
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the missile strikes, revealing that a child was among the victims. “Another brutal attack on our cities and communities. Tragic murders once again,” Zelensky wrote on X, extending condolences to the victims’ families.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials slammed Moscow for planning to withdraw from the European Council’s Torture Prevention Treaty, calling it a “tacit admission of guilt” in war crimes and torture of civilians.
This latest strike underscores the escalating violence in Ukraine and the growing rift between Russia and the European Union.
